This is one of them. Simple postcard with envelope on cover surrounded by forget-me-not flowers. Text: "Forget-me-not! With all Good Wishes from Sidney" M.G.C. on rear flap on envelope is likely the simply-changed feature allowing for the same design across many regiments and corps. Postmarked: Dover, 8am, 4 August 1916. Text: 23006 Pte H Bampton, C Coy 10th East Surreys, Maxton Camp, Folkestone Rd, Dover Thurs Dear Tom, You will see by this card I have returned to my old regiment. We had an air raid hereabouts last night, no damage. Will write when I have time remember me to all. Best wishes to you & Doll, Harry.
To Mr Thos. Bampkin, 39 St Mary's St, Northampton. There is no record of Private Bampkin in the MGC Database but his mention of returning to his old regiment implies he may have been transferred and sent back without a record of him sufficient to be discovered as part of the Database research.
